Newer articles don’t use the word “tattoo,” instead they use “delivery system.” It’s a patch of microneedles that are loaded with hydrogel that carries a bioluminescent, near-infrared “dye” or enzyme called Luciferase (also not mentioned in the articles; but it can be searched separately). Once it’s all been pushed into the skin, it’s read by a special Smart Phone.
Of course, they could always put Luciferase in a regular syringe so it will attach to the proteins that will be produced by our altered DNA: Anyone not vac cinated would be easy to pick out at, say, an entertainment venue via infrared censors.
