Robert Richards IV is a convicted child rapist, having been found guilty of raping his three-year-old daughter. He wound up serving a suspended sentence (Delaware Superior Court Judge Jan R. Jurden claimed he would “not fare well” in prison) and Richards was ordered to attend in-patient treatment in Massachusetts, something he has failed to do.
Former Delaware Attorney General and Joe Biden’s eldest son, Beau Biden defended the sentencing, arguing that the prosecution had to make a plea deal or risk losing the case.
What Biden didn’t mention was that Richards is the heir to the Du Pont family, one of the wealthiest and most powerful in the United States since the days of the Civil War.
