Yes and no, Cruise ships serve as a medium for these viruses and other illnesses to get around but considering that most cruises stick to a single area and constantly go back and forth they may never come into contact with an individual who is infected. Taking a cruise that passes through China may not be the best idea but a Caribbean cruise is the most popular cruise to take this time of year anyway.
Even if more ships are quarantined it is likely going to end up like the Italian cruise ship, someone thinks they have the Coronavirus but actually has the flu. It is important to remember that it is still the flu season and most people who are sick don’t have some new disease that is coming out of China, they likely just have the common flu.
