A recent report by Reuters unveiled that former President Trump does not have any ancestral ties to slavery, setting him apart from other living U.S. presidents. The study revealed that Presidents Joe Biden, Jimmy Carter, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and notably Barack Obama, all have connections to individuals who were involved in enslaving Black people in America.
In contrast, Donald Trump’s ancestors have no links to slavery.
The investigation also discovered that more than 100 current Congressmen and Senators have ancestors who were slave owners. Interestingly, Senator Elizabeth Warren, who has misrepresented her Native American heritage, also comes from a family with a history of owning slaves. This contradicts the image she portrays as a progressive advocate for minorities in America.
It is important to note that individuals should not be judged based on the circumstances of their birth, including their family history. Those who argue otherwise often do so in support of reparations or to gain political advantage. However, it is ironic to observe that many Democrats who argue for addressing inherent advantages given to White people due to slavery have family backgrounds that granted them similar advantages, which they now condemn.
Several Democratic states, particularly California, are contemplating slavery reparations programs that could incur substantial costs. In May, the state’s Reparations Task Force proposed payments of up to $1.2 million to eligible Black residents, a proposition that has faced opposition, even within the Democratic Party, as it is seen as a potentially disastrous economic move to allocate funds solely based on race. Governor Newsom has yet to endorse these payments, as doing so would likely be detrimental to his political career.
the irony of he entire thing is, their own people sold them into slavery so reparations should come from their people not the people who owned them in the US and other places. look At he future of the whole thing, if their ancestors would not have sold them as slaves, not one of them would be living in California or any other State.
