The mainstream media has refused to cover the scandal dubbed “worse than Watergate.”

A classified memo was viewed by members of the House of Representatives on Thursday, apparently outlining startling misconduct by top Justice Department and FBI officials during the final days of the Obama Administration.

Most notably, the memo claims that DOJ and FBI officials used the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) to illegally spy on the Trump presidential campaign while he was running against Hillary Clinton.

Many Republicans in Congress have expressed shock and dismay at the claims made in the memo and have called for its public release.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Florida) called the facts in the memo “jaw-dropping and demand full transparency” in order to “preserve our democracy.”

Rep. Peter King (R-NY) called the claims “sickening,” and said that if made public, the claims would be considered “worse than Watergate.”

Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) called the memo “troubling” and “shocking,” and said he “wishes that [he] didn’t read it” because he didn’t want to believe the U.S. Government was capable of such abhorrent behavior.

But despite the contents of the memo rattling the political establishment to its core – and possibly leading to firings or arrests among the top brass in the nation’s intelligence apparatus – the mainstream media has remained mum.

As of Friday evening, CNN’s website did not have a single story on their homepage devoted to the scandal. Neither did MSNBC, The New York Times, the Washington Post, or USA Today.

Despite the mainstream media’s blackout, it’s clear this scandal isn’t going away – as ever-growing numbers of Republicans in Congress and conservatives on social media are calling for the memo to be declassified and released to the American public.
