On Sunday, Elon Musk announced that any Twitter accounts aimed at impersonation without clearly stating they are ‘parody’ would be banned from the platform. Far left comedian Kathy Griffin seemed to be the cause of the announcement because earlier in the day she had changed her Twitter account to exactly match Elon Musk’s and tweeted, “Hey complainers and activists. Want to see real activism? Watch this. RT w #VoteBlue.” Griffin’s account was suspended within an hour, showing that Musk is ready to clean up the once liberal leaning Twitter. Here is the tweet which Griffin was suspended for and what her profile looks like now:

Elon then showed no remorse for Kathy Griffin, adding “actually, she was suspended for impersonating a comedian.” Griffin is mainly known in recent times for her highly polarizing political talking points, and not necessarily her comedic career.

Musk did not mention Griffin in his tweet about the new suspension policy but it seems obvious she is the cause of the announcement. Liberals have been in a complete meltdown over Twitter’s new ownership as they won’t be able to use the platform to censor conservative messages before Tuesday’s midterms.

Kathy Griffin, a staunch supporter of the Democratic party, famously posted a photo of herself holding a bloodied severed head of then-President Donald Trump. But Democrats say it is only Republicans who incite political violence with their messaging. In September, Griffin tweeted, “If you don’t want a Civil War, vote for Democrats in November. If you do want Civil War, vote Republican.”
