The founder of The Drudge Report, Matt Drudge, has revealed that Sean Hannity is set to take over the 8 p.m. time slot, replacing Tucker Carlson. Additionally, Jesse Watters is anticipated to make a move to the 9 p.m. time slot, while Greg Gutfeld is expected to occupy the 10 p.m. slot in the future.

It is worth mentioning that the report acknowledges the existence of multiple scenarios currently being considered. Until Fox News officially announces the new lineup, the specific details, and arrangement remain uncertain. Previously, Watters currently hosts a highly-rated show at 7 p.m., while Gutfeld holds a popular late-night show at 11 p.m. Both individuals also co-host the well-received program The Five, which airs at 5 p.m.

This major restructuring comes in the aftermath of Fox News’ decision to terminate their highest-rated opinion host, Tucker Carlson, in late April, following a string of controversies. While there has been a resurgence of advertisers returning to the 8 p.m. time slot previously occupied by Carlson, there has been a significant decrease in viewership.

After Tucker Carlson’s departure, the 8 p.m. time slot at Fox News has witnessed a significant decline in viewership. In the first quarter of 2023, Carlson had an average of 3.25 million viewers. However, on Monday, during the same hour, the viewership dropped to 1.62 million, resembling the average of 1.66 million viewers that Fox News observed in the week following Carlson’s firing. As Fox News experienced a decline in ratings, another host, Eric Bolling, formerly of Fox News and currently hosting “The Balance” on Newsmax, has seen a notable increase in viewership. In the days immediately following Tucker Carlson’s departure, Bolling’s show experienced an impressive surge of nearly 400,000 additional viewers.

After Carlson’s exit from Fox, the network opted for a rotation of hosts to fill the void. This rotation included Brian Kilmeade, Lawrence Jones, Kayleigh McEnany, and presently Will Cain. However, none of the hosts have been able to revive positive reviews.
