Teenagers Engage in Four-Day Rampage in Chicago
For four consecutive nights, groups of teens in Chicago have engaged in violent and destructive behavior downtown. The rioting began on Wednesday, only days after the Democratic National Committee (DNC) selected Chicago as the host city for its 2024 National Presidential Convention, despite the city having one of the highest murder rates in the nation.
NEW: In response to the ‘Teen Takeover’ in Chicago over the weekend, Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson briefly condemned the violence before lashing out at those criticizing the criminals.

On Wednesday night, around 200 teenagers reportedly started a mass fight in Millennium Park, harassing and fighting with others present. The next three nights saw more large groups of unruly teens roaming the streets, jumping on top of mass transit buses, bashing in car windows, and firing gunshots. Two teenage boys were injured on Saturday when an unknown assailant fired shots into the crowd.
Newly-elected Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, a self-proclaimed “progressive” and far-leftist who supports defunding the police despite Chicago’s issue with violent crime throughout the city. Johnson has also faced criticism for his response to the violent rampage, as he refuses to condemn the rioters. Despite the ongoing violence, Johnson has only offered platitudes, stating that the safety and healing of children affected by gun violence will be a priority for his administration. However, no concrete plan of action has been presented.
Residents and officials are concerned about the upcoming DNC convention in 2024, as the violence and high crime rate may discourage visitors and tarnish the city’s reputation. The situation highlights the urgent need for effective measures to address Chicago’s crime and violence issues.
Mayor Brandon Johnson’s Response to the Rampage
Mayor Brandon Johnson faced criticism for his response to the violent rampage carried out by over 100 teenagers in downtown Chicago on Saturday night. The teenagers torched cars, engaged in a massive fight, and attempted to breach police barricades. The incident left two teenage boys aged 16 and 17 with gunshot wounds, and 15 people were arrested, including nine adults and six children.
“It is not constructive to demonize youth who have otherwise been starved of opportunities in their own communities.”
“Our city must work together to create spaces for youth to gather safely and responsibly, under adult guidance and supervision, to ensure that every part of our city remains welcome for both residents and visitors.”
Despite the violence, Johnson refused to condemn the teenagers, instead suggesting that society should not demonize them, and that their behavior was not entirely their fault. Johnson stressed that creating such spaces was part of his comprehensive approach to improving public safety and making Chicago livable for everyone.
Criticism of Mayor Johnson
Johnson’s statement faced significant criticism from the public, who accused him of being too lenient on the rioters. Some argued that his soft-hand approach would lead to more crime and more deaths and that citizens deserved to live in a safe city.
Johnson’s campaign website had previously indicated that he would work with police and first responders to invest in community-based interventions that de-escalate conflict, reduce violence, and make neighborhoods safer. In contrast, his opponent, Chicago Public Schools CEO Paul Vallas, promised to increase the number of sworn officers and considered public safety a basic human right.
The Chicago Teachers Union endorsed Johnson, while the Chicago Police Union endorsed Vallas, causing controversy amid government lockdowns over the rollback of virtual instruction. Despite the criticism, Johnson’s focus on creating safe spaces for young people and investing in community-based interventions may ultimately help reduce violence and improve public safety in Chicago.
Prep for the Dem Convention next year
What a SICK government in place!!!!!!!
Yep. If your talking also about the sick corrupt, gender, godless, confused Biden/obama/soros government
Hey, I thought I saw the new mayor running with those rioting teens in the videos!!! Snarc, snarc. The reason the former mayor, crypt keeper, never did that was she couldn’t run if her ass was on fire.
Okay, I’m going on this again. To anyone out there musically inclined, I think that we need a civilian version of taps (not defiling the military version), to play for the demise of Demorat run jurisdictions. I am also thinking in should be along the lines of the Benny Hill, Run-a-round theme (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUYbu5DJA1U), to be truly appropriate.
And we thought things couldn’t get worse after Lightfoot was, thankfully, ousted! And this, sadly enough, is only the beginning. How does this loon not see what is ahead for this city because of his lack of governing? Who, in their right mind, could do anything but condemn this behavior? Defund the police…this is what you get. Just mind boggling!
The city will be losing a great deal of revenue going forward because many businesses are in the process of planning to move to another state. What will be left for this so-called mayor to “lead”? He should have applied for a position at a juvenile facility with his bright ideas instead of running for mayor.
This is going to be EPIC to watch this new clown get his ASS handed to him just like Lightweight did.
Good gracious! Hey people of Chicago, you better do a recall and do it quickly. That Marxist Mayor will steamboat your city in no time flat.
That kinda takes care of anyone’s vacation plans for Chicago. They will stay away if they are smart.
I hope they have a good time in killer city.
Who is paying these young people to riot?
Hey, kids – let’s put on a show!
Two teenage boys were injured on Saturday when an unknown assailant fired shots into the crowd. That’s what is needed, a couple of hundred of unknown assailants…..
One of the Highest Muder rates in the Nation . Is a Perfect City for the Democratic Convention .
The word “teen” is used FIFTEEN times in this article. The word “black”….ZERO.
Why is the media afraid of printing truth and accurate facts nowadays?
Shoot them and they will stop that crap
