Ahead of the results we may get in tonight’s elections, Democrats had what seemed like a pre-election damage control meeting last night.  According to AXIOS, Democrats running the party’s national campaign held a private call with stakeholders and allies on Monday night to discuss “urgent messaging” when Republicans take the lead. While Democrats are concerned with Republicans claiming premature victory, the stats are set for Republicans to take the lead and the majority in Senate. At this point, this call on the game plan for “urgent messaging” sounds like a war room type planning session.

AXIOS has reported that:

“The Democratic National Committee, Democratic Governors Association (DGA), the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee (DSCC), and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) convened an election-eve call with party allies about these concerns and to lay out the mechanics and timeframes for tabulating results in different states. Individual campaigns went public with similar approaches.”

While Democrats are worried about keeping “election deniers” from stirring misinformation, this election-eve call seems more like a means to control the narrative from the public than from keeping misinformation from coming out. It overall has a controlling tone, as they discussed “mechanics and timeframes.”

AXIOS has also reported that more than 200 so-called election deniers are running in the 2022 Midterm elections.

While results may not be official for days or weeks, with delays of ballot counts with absentee and mail-in ballots, there will be clear leads tonight as polls close and votes submitted today come to an end. And clearly, Democrats will be ready to control the narrative on those results.
