Virginia’s nationally-watched race for governor has been thrown into turmoil by a series of unreported alleged rapes in a high school after the Democrat-controlled state legislature repealed a law requiring administrators to report crimes.
Parental rights and radical control of schools were already a hot issue between Republican challenger Glenn Youngkin and Democrat former governor Terry McAuliffe, after McAuliffe publicly declared parents should have no role in guiding school curriculum.
But the issue has gone nuclear after a 15-year-old girl was allegedly violently raped in a restroom at Loudoun County’s Broad Run High School, administrators quietly transferred the alleged rapist to another school, where he allegedly raped again, then publicly claimed there had never been a reported crime.
Those administrators then had the alleged victim’s father arrested when he tried to speak publicly about the incident.
Making the issue even more toxic for McAuliffe is the fact his allies in the state’s General Assembly repealed a law requiring schools to publicly report sexual assaults, and Loudoun administrators appear to have covered up the crime because the accused was a male allowed to use the girl’s restrooms by claiming to be “gender-fluid.”
“Virginia Democrats quietly amended a law last year, softening a policy that, even in its current state, should have required Loudoun County Public Schools to report the apparent sexual assault that has roiled the school board this week, as parents accused officials of covering up a teenage girl’s rape because it would undermine a pro-transgender bathroom policy,” Breitbart reports.
“Before last year, Virginia Code § 22.1-279.3:1 required all crimes that occurred on campus to be reported to law enforcement. However, Democrats successfully pushed for an amendment to that law, replacing the word ‘criminal’ with ‘felony,’ leaving misdemeanors out of the law’s required reporting incidents,” Breitbart adds.
While Loudoun administrators appear to have contacted law enforcement upon hearing of the alleged incident, the accused was simply transferred to another campus, where he allegedly violently raped another student.
Loudoun administrators not only publicly claimed there were no reported rapes when asked, Superintendent Scott Ziegler had the first alleged victim’s father arrested at a public hearing when he attempted to ask about it.
Voter appear ready to take their outrage out of McAuliffe, who is running to succeed Democrat Governor Ralph Northam because Virginia law prohibits governors from serving successive terms. McAuliffe, backed by government school unions and a vocal champion of their radical agenda had doubled down on these policies, going so far as to say “parents should not be in schools” when it comes to deciding what kids learn.
Polls show him only barely leading the previously-unknown Youngkin, despite spending millions to promote his re-election in a state Biden won last year by double digits.

Depending on the severity/type of the crime, it can be either. 1st (worst felony) , 2nd and 3rd (lowest felony ) degree sexual crimes are felonies. 4th degree sexual crimes are typically regarded as a serious misdemeanor. A lot has to do with how the activity is worded and explained, along with the provability of consent/refusal, and the ages of the perpetrator and the victim. Note that less than 20 out of 1,000 rapes are even pursued in court, and less than half of THOSE cases result in a conviction of any kind. So the odds of a conviction are about 1 in 100! Yes, I agree – these laws have more holes than Swiss cheese in a sieve.

I’d say it’s time to hold those that don’t report those crimes as accessories to those crimes. Right down to the legislators that changed the wording. A crime is a crime, misdemeanor or not. Allowing them to get away with this only supports their ability to collect more federal and state funding for butts in seats (figuratively) while they get fatter and happier instead of doing the job they were hired for. Educating the young. As for that aspect…. the indoctrination has to stop.
