The recent Supreme Court ruling, which invalidated Affirmative Action, has generated diverse viewpoints from prominent individuals. Those affiliated with the Republican party assert that the policy was both illegal and discriminatory, as it granted preferential treatment solely based on race. Conversely, many Democrats argue in favor of maintaining the policy, and are willing to overlook the policy’s racist tendencies.
