Jimmy Carter
Jimmy Carter was known for his compassion and care for the people he knew well. He was controversial as president and lost his re-election campaign in a historic landslide. Carter oversaw the first Camp David Accords between Israel, the Palestinian Authority and the United States. Carter carried the torch that Truman lit in defending Israel’s right to exist as a nation.
