Big donors have given President Trump a substantial boost ahead of 2020, far outpacing his Democratic opponents.

Super PACs like the Committee to Defend the President (CDP) are raking in millions from megadonors and small-dollar donors alike, according to FEC records.

Ted Harvey, CDP’s chairman, has made it his mission to “defend the president from day one.”

His organization has touted Trump’s accomplishments through ad campaigns also used to find favorable voters.

During the midterm elections, its priority was re-electing Trump’s allies in Congress – but now fundraising is focused on the 2020 money race.

Per ABC News:

The Committee to Defend the President has been one of the most aggressive pro-Trump super PACs so far this year, already spending nearly $1 million in support of Trump, according to campaign finance records.

The PAC changed its name quickly after Trump took office, raised nearly $9 million and spent more than $4 million in support of Trump during 2018 cycle, FEC filings show.
