In a shocking development, Lindsey Graham testified today on behalf of indicted Democratic Senator Bob Menendez.
Graham volunteered to serve as a character witness for the defense. He traveled to federal court in Newark, New Jersey earlier today at his own expense.
Menendez is the senior senator from the State of New Jersey. He resigned as the Chair of the Committee on Foreign Relations in disgrace after an indictment on corruption charges came down but stubbornly remains in office.
Prosecutors allege Menendez helped his friend, a millionaire Florida eye doctor with personal favors, including getting visas for his “young girlfriends.” In exchange, Menendez received massive political donations; private jet travel; and booze-fueled, child prostitute infested vacations.
However, Graham wanted to share another side of Menendez with the court claiming “[he’s] a very honest and trustworthy senator.”
