“Friends” star and A-list actress Jennifer Aniston, 53, went after celebrities like Paris Hilton and Monica Lewinsky due to reaching fame through nothing more than sexualization. It doesn’t necessarily require talent to get with the president of the United States or to film a sex tape.
Her comments drew criticism from people on Twitter. While many didn’t choose to defend celebrities like Paris Hilton or Monica Lewinsky on the basis that they’re talented, many chose to attack Jennifer Aniston on the basis that she had rich parents.

Commenting on the 1990s, Aniston called them “the time when the internet really shaped a new culture about people becoming famous. This thing of people becoming famous for basically doing nothing. I mean — Paris Hilton, Monica Lewinsky, all those.”
“I always say I feel lucky that we got a little taste of the industry before it became what it is today, which is just different — more streaming services, more people,” she said. “You’re famous from TikTok. You’re famous from YouTube. You’re famous from Instagram. It’s sort of almost like it’s diluting our actor’s job.”
Some fans slammed Aniston on Twitter, noting that her father John had starred on “Days of Our Lives” while her mother Nancy Dow had starred in TV shows such as “The Beverly Hillbillies” and “The Wild Wild West.”

“She kind of has a point though. Trained actors and those just coming out of training have been getting sidelined for influencers with no training whatsoever for a while now. And it’s happening across the board, no matter the race/class. Usually, those influencers are white, too,” another user added.
Jennifer Aniston wasn’t necessarily attacking women who gained notoriety due to their body or sexual imagery, however, in the case of Hilton and Lewinski, these women had little to no other talents that would’ve propelled them into fame.
Paris Hilton would go on to become a household name for nothing more than being a rich woman who made a sex tape. Monica Lewinski would not only go on to being a household name, but she is also currently paid for political speeches and constantly interviewed on television, including an interview with John Oliver.
The person that said Jennifer played the same personality thru- out her career pretty much could have said it about John Wayne, Jack Nicholson and Marilyn Monroe. But they created the personality that would make them famous. And that is talent . Actually Jack was a very good actor but we came to the movie to see Jack. He had the charisma…as did John and Marilyn.
