In an interview with the Washington Post last year, Barr critiqued Special Counsel Robert Mueller for doing too little to dispell notions of anti-Trump bias on his team.
Barr told the Post:
“In my view, prosecutors who make political contributions are identifying fairly strongly with a political party. I would have liked to see him have more balance on the group,” Barr said.
Barr also defended Trump’s decision to fire former FBI Director James Comey, saying it was “understandable” and insisting Comey’s dismissal was unrelated to, and had no effect on, the integrity of the Russia probe.
