Rainn Wilson, best known for his role in the TV series “The Office,” recently admitted to the existence of anti-Christian bias in Hollywood. He made this comment in reference to the penultimate episode of “The Last of Us” on HBO Max, where the main character Ellie encounters a group of survivors led by a cult-leading cannibal who quotes the Bible.
In a tweet, Wilson wrote that as soon as the David character started reading from the Bible, he knew he was going to be a horrific villain. He questioned if there could be a Bible-reading preacher on a show who is actually loving and kind. Many Twitter users agreed with Wilson’s assessment, stating that defamation of Christianity has become an unoriginal and tired cliché in movie and TV storylines.

Despite being an outspoken leftist, Wilson’s followers were surprised to see him acknowledge this Hollywood reality. In November, Wilson even changed his name to “Rainnfall Heat Wave Extreme Winter Wilson” on Instagram to promote climate change awareness, and Wilson has frequently given loose endorsements to Democrat politicians throughout his past. He said that he did this to help tell the world leaders and influencers that action needs to be taken now to address the problem.
While “The Last of Us” mostly followed the content of the video game, one social media user pointed out that David was not a pastor in the game. As soon as the pastor started reading from the Bible, the person knew he was going to be awful and predicted he was going to be David, the creepy cannibal from the video game, and the T.V. adaptation would politicize a cannibal antagonist to become a Christian, attempting to push the narrative that those who have a Christian faith are somehow the worst in a society – fortunately, this tired storyline “twist” has grown stale to many.
How can the country recover from someone, President Biden, who doesn’t even seem to know what he is doing? Me?–I think he is aware of his actions and they are planned actions. I don’t think he likes or loves America.
