Many Americans have Apple products in their homes. MacBooks and iPhones are commonplace in contemporary American life.
This lawsuit will decide whether or not the company can be sued in a class action lawsuit over its control of the App Store. The complaint is that Apple inflates the prices of its apps because they receive a portion of the sales profit and the App Store is the only such store available on iPhones as opposed to Andriod phones which offer the Google Play Store, Amazon app suite, and smaller third-party app stores.
Depending on the outcome of this case, consumers may be entitled to a payout from Apple or Apple’s system might have to allow more app stores on its products.
