Bud Light, America’s former top-selling beer brand, has faced a substantial decrease in sales after entering into a controversial endorsement agreement with Dylan Mulvaney, an influential figure who identifies as a transgender woman.

To counter the declining sales, Bud Light implemented price reductions, leading to an unprecedented situation where the beer became cheaper than certain cases of water at a store in Pennsylvania. Despite this pricing strategy, sales did not recover, and Bud Light found itself facing fierce competition from rivals such as Modelo Especial. As a result, Bud Light has lost its reign as the top-selling beer brand in America, which it held for the previous two decades.

Anheuser-Busch, the parent company of Bud Light, encountered criticism for disregarding the “bar rules” of avoiding political and religious themes in their marketing efforts. Moreover, the company’s stock value experienced a significant drop.

During his appearance on CBS “This Morning,” Brendan Whitworth, the CEO of Anheuser-Busch, refrained from acknowledging the error of featuring Mulvaney’s picture on the beer can. Whitworth emphasized the importance of Bud Light’s role in fostering inclusivity and unity, suggesting that the discussions surrounding the brand had become divisive.

  1. Good stuff! Light beer was never a beverage of men or women. BUTT LIGHT was never a real beer.

  2. Maybe they should discount something they can’t give away to the general public, and give it to the DRAG Community.
