A Washington Post – ABC News poll is showing that former-President Donald Trump may have the lead of President Joe Biden
A new poll shows Trump ahead of Biden just before Biden is set to give the State of the Union. According to a new Washington Post – ABC News poll, Trump is leading Biden in a few new angled statistics, as Biden prepares to give the State of the Union address. While the address is traditionally meant to bring the country together under the President, for Biden it seems that this year’s speech will need to be used to scrap up any support he can as he looks to 2024.
State Of The Union: Will Biden Address THIS Disaster?
More Republicans had an opinion on Trump’s 2024 bid than Democrats had on Biden’s 2024 bid, no shock there. Though among those that did have an opinion, 31% of Democrats felt their party should nominate Biden compared to 58% of Democrats who felt their party should nominate someone else. One of the most interesting pieces of this survey set though is that among Republicans, compared to Democrats, 44% of Republicans feel as though Trump should be the party’s nomination compared to the 31% of Democrats who felt the same about Biden.
In the second survey question, registered voters were asked who they hypothetically would be more satisfied with if elected to be president in 2024. And shocker that mashup went to Trump. 17% of voters said they would be enthusiastic if Trump were elected and 26% said they would be satisfied with Trump this comes as opposed to only 7% enthusiastic over Biden and 29% satisfied with Biden if he were reelected in 2024.
Then in the third survey set, it was concluded that 1 in 3 Republicans were enthusiastic about a second Trump term while only 1 in 6 Democrats could say the same about Biden. This gives Trump double the lead over Biden.
Americans Demand Answers As State of the Union Draws Closer
While there were conversations around this poll over if Trump and Biden should back down to “fresh blood” these poll numbers show that as of now Trump is still doing better than Biden and Trump is still a viable option amongst the GOP.
