Struggling to gain traction with the AOC-wing of the party, former vice president, and still Democratic frontrunner, Joe Biden made two bombshell comments on the campaign trail.
At a stop in Ames, Iowa on Tuesday, he praised illegal immigrants in the DACA program, claiming they were “more American” than their U.S.-born counterparts because they do well academically.
Biden’s boss, President Barack Obama established the DACA program during his administration. It allows children brought illegally into the United States by their parents to receive deferred action in deportation cases.

In separate comments at a 2020 Vice News Election Forum, Biden said he would only instruct ICE agents to deport illegal immigrants convicted of felony charges, adding that “I don’t consider drunk driving a felony.”
While Biden isn’t prepared to abolish ICE, unlike several Democratic members of Congress, he’s committed to changing the culture of fear the organization inspires among some by firing anyone who carries out arrests that go beyond his guidelines.
“You change the culture by saying, ‘you’re gonna get fired.’ ‘You’re fired,’ if, in fact, you do that.”
While states typically charge first-time DUI/DWI offenders with a misdemeanor, cases involving repeat offenders or drivers that cause harm to others are commonly treated as felony offenses.
