Throughout much of Tuesday, the media has either inadvertently or willingly provided cover for Iran in the face of a Shiite militia attempting to storm the U.S. embassy in Baghdad.
The pro-Iran attack comes in response to U.S. airstrikes against Kataib Hezbollah (KH), an Iranian proxy group that had recently killed an American citizen.
Twenty-five KH fighters died in the bombings.

At the compound gates, Iranian proxies vowed to “not spare a single employee” if they breach the defenses.

Responding to rapidly deteriorating conditions, President Trump deployed Apache helicopters and 100 Marines to the embassy.
Yet another aspect of the story is being largely ignored.
Badr Corps chief Hadi al-Amiri, one of the three leaders of today’s attack, was previously invited to the White House by President Obama in 2011.
Al-Amiri’s Badr Organization is one of the most powerful pro-Iran Shiite militias in the Popular Mobilization Forces, which were incorporated into the Iraqi military after repelling Sunni-inspired ISIS.
More than eight years ago, Fox News and the Washington Times reported on a White House visit by then-Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and his transportation minister, al-Amiri.
Intelligence agencies linked al-Amiri to a 1996 terrorist attack that killed 19 U.S. soldiers. Yet he accompanied the prime minister to the United States for an event trumpeting the end of the Iraq War.
Fox News’ Ed Henry questioned then-White House Press Secretary Jay Carney on al-Amiri’s appearance at the White House. The transcript, obtained from RealClearPolitics, reads in part:
Ed Henry, FOX News: When Prime Minister Maliki was here this week there have been reports that a former commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, which U.S. officials say played a role in a 1996 terrorist attack that killed 19 U.S. servicemen.

Jay Carney, WH: Who’s [sic] report is that?
Henry: I believe the Washington Times has reported it. I think others have as well, but I think this is a Washington Times —
Carney: I have to take that question then, I’m not aware of it.

-No deaths so far, thank GodYeah, those sound exactly the same.
