DeWayne Walker has worked at CNN for 16 years. He happens to be African American and recently filed a race discrimination lawsuit against the cable news network.

He has since filed a new lawsuit with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, claiming that a white executive threatened to kill him for filing his original suit.

According to Walker, his boss and group creative director, Whit Friese, confronted him in a restroom at CNN Center on August 15, 2019.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports:

Friese told Walker, “Just drop it.” Friese was supposedly referencing the lawsuit Walker filed in May.

Walker: “Or?”

Friese approached Mr. Walker at the urinal and quietly said: “If you f***with my money, I will kill you.” [emphasis added]

Five days after the encounter, Walker informed CNN human resources of the incident and met with the HR manager August 21, the lawsuit stated. Walker was placed on administrative leave with pay the next day.

Walker submitted a new complaint last month after it appeared Friese wasn’t punished for his alleged threat.

Walker, manager of integrated marketing for CNN, remains on paid leave.
