Democratic frontrunner Joe Biden had an embarrassing moment on the campaign trail in Iowa over the weekend.

When asked by a curious voter who he would pick as his running mate should he win his party’s nomination, Biden listed cursory biographical details about four women in Democratic Party politics without mentioning their names.

The omission suggests Biden struggled to remember who they were.

Per the Daily Mail:

Democrat Biden said he ‘could start naming people but the press will think that’s who I picked’ before not being able to actually recall the names of any of those he might select.

Instead, the 77-year-old listed their qualifications and identified them via their public roles.

Biden had initially joked to the voter behind the question: ‘You. Are you available?’

Biden proceeded to refer to the following women:

  • Sally Yates, a.k.a. “the former assistant attorney general who got fired who was just in Delaware.”
  • Stacey Abrams, a.k.a. “the woman who should have been the governor of Georgia.”
  • Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan, a.k.a. “the two senators from the state of New Hampshire.”

Democratic primary polls show Biden consistently in the lead nationally; however, he has floundered in recent weeks in Iowa, dropping to fourth place in the latest poll from Iowa State University.

Biden’s campaign hopes a new endorsement by popular former Governor Tom Vilsack will improve his fortunes in the Hawkeye State.
