Major League Baseball is investigating a veteran umpire over quickly-deleted MAGA tweets.
The episode drew controversy because he threatened to buy an assault rifle should Congress impeach President Trump (RELATED: SHOCK – Football Player Donates $25K to Group Supporting Cop Killer).
Per Mediaite:
According to ESPN, veteran ump Rob Drake tweeted — the deleted — the following on Tuesday.
“I will be buying an AR-15 tomorrow, because if you impeach MY PRESIDENT this way, YOU WILL HAVE ANOTHER CIVAL WAR!!! #MAGA2020”
Drake also tweeted, “You can’t do an impeachment inquiry from the basement of Capital Hill without even a vote! What is going on in this country?”
The ESPN report indicates that MLB knows about the deleted tweet, and is looking into it.
The MLB’s social media policy for employees has ten rules. The only one league officials could reasonably argue Drake violated concerns invoking threats of violence.
Drake could contend his short-lived tweet was more about self-defense.
