There’s an old saying in warfare, soldiers dream of strategy, generals do logistics.
The United States and China both have a vast array of natural resources, but the United States has a far superior military supply chain than China.
Because of our geographic isolation and continuing status since World War II as the world’s greatest force for good, the United States depends on strong diplomatic ties and on a massive network of overseas bases on six continents to engage or contain threats. The logistics to supply these forces are staggering: Hundreds of titanic transport planes, aerial refueling tankers, and the world’s largest armada of amphibious landing craft are involved, to name a few of the military’s workhorses.
The Chinese simply cannot compete.
