The father of a girl killed in a 2018 mass shooting in a Florida high school reveals the school district allowed students to commit four misdemeanors a year before police were called.

Andrew Pollack, whose daughter Meadow was one of 17 people killed when 18-year-old Nicolas Cruz opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, revealed the existence of the Broward County Public School district’s policy in a new book detailing the causes of the shooting.

“One of the examples in Broward when my daughter was going to school; students were allowed four misdemeanors per school year without being introduced to the judicial system,” Pollack told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson. “And then, at the end of the year, Tucker, if you could believe this – so, that was in ninth grade you had a kid next to your kid in the classroom – commits four misdemeanors, and then next year, 10th grade, he resets at zero and is allowed another four misdemeanors per school year.”

“For reference, certain misdemeanors can result in one year in prison. Misdemeanors include animal cruelty (one of the earliest signs that a person could become a murderer), assault, and battery. The Broward policy meant that a student could be involved in up to four violent altercations per year without the police being informed or involved,” the Daily Wire reports.

The policy follows orders from the Obama administration to reduce in-school discipline, which liberal activists claim is racially discriminatory. As a result, parents are not even told in cases in which their child receives death threats, like those made by Cruz.

Immediately after the shooting liberal politicians and the mainstream media blamed the shooting on Republicans. They refused to correct their reporting or apologize after numerous revelations that school and law enforcement officials refused to do anything about the many warnings they received about Cruz.

A public records request shows between 2008 and 2017 the Broward County Sheriff’s Department received 45 calls referencing Cruz, his brother or his home address. Sheriff Scott Israel says they received 23 calls about Cruz himself. Cruz also made numerous comments in which he explicitly said he planned to carry out a school shooting.

Cruz was never arrested. School officials wanted to simply transfer the violent student to another school.
