September 11th is a day we solemnly remember two tragedies. Firstly, the 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon which claimed nearly 3,000 lives and irrevocably changed American history, and, secondly, the 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. The second tragedy could have doomed President Barack Obama’s reelection, however, his administration weathered the storm by clinging to a false, self-serving narrative for as long as possible.
