Disgraced financier and accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein has a long list of friends in high places, including former President Bill Clinton.
Many suspect he leveraged his power and wealth to avoid the prospect of life in prison in 2008.

Epstein, 66, was found in a fetal position almost unconscious Tuesday with injuries to his neck after a possible suicide attempt, NBC New York and the New York Post, citing unidentified law enforcement officials.
Multiple sources said Epstein may have tried to hang himself at the Metropolitan Correctional Center. But other possibilities were being investigated, including an attack by another inmate or simply an effort by Epstein to win transfer to another facility, they said.
The Post said Epstein was taken to a hospital, NBC said he has since been placed on suicide watch at the jail.
Federal Bureau of Prisons officials did not immediately respond to a USA TODAY request for information on the incident. Epstein lawyers Martin Weinberg and Reid Weingarten were not available for comment.
