Turning Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley into the face of the Democratic Party will pay dividends.
No strategy is without peril. Republican backlash to chants of “send her back,” regarding Ilhan Omar, at President Trump’s Wednesday night rally proves that.
For most conservatives, it was a bridge too far. Omar has far-left political views and she’s even promoted anti-Semitic tropes.
However, we cannot stress enough that she is a naturalized citizen. America is her country as much as ours. Gratitude or extreme views are not prerequisites to being an American.
We can defeat her extreme ideas by exposing them and offering a compelling contrast: a strong economy, rebuilt military, better trade deals, etc. courtesy of the White House.
The @IlhanMN @RashidaTlaib @repjohnlewis pro-BDS bill implicitly compares Israel to
* Nazi Germany
* Imperial Japan
* The USSR
All enemies of the US, 2 that the US actually defeated in war.Israel is, of course, a US ally and basically always has been. Details, details. pic.twitter.com/JU1gbRBzLp

But physical threats have no place whatsoever in our political discourse.
They only fuel the mainstream media’s disingenuous portrayal of all conservative Republicans.
Good thing Trump never said that.

Now that everyone is on the same page take a look at who first urged the change of tone – fearing the political damage and ugliness would dilute a winning strategy.
