DISGUSTING!
My grandparents were gassed to death in concentration camps by the Nazis, millions of Jews, men, women & children were gassed to death then burned to ashes in those camps. @AOC comparing ICE detention centers to that is absolutely disgusting pic.twitter.com/yJXYJ718wM

Freshman lawmaker Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) dared to compare U.S. Customs and Border Protection detention facilities to Nazi concentration camps last night.
According to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, 42,500 Nazi ghettos and camps scattered across occupied Europe claimed the lives of 15 to 20 million Jews and other “undesirables” forced to live there.
The Daily Wire reports on the head-scratching statements:
Ocasio-Cortez then explicitly invoked the Holocaust by mentioning the phrase “Never Again,” which is a direct reference to the Holocaust.
“I want to talk to the people that are concerned enough with humanity to say that we should not that ‘Never Again’ means something and that the fact that concentration camps are now an institutionalized practice in the home of the free is extraordinarily disturbing and we need to do something about it,” the freshman congresswoman continued. “This week, children, immigrant children were moved to the same internment camps where the Japanese were held in, in the early, in the earlier 20th century and this is, um, this is not even about a crisis for, this is not just about the immigrant communities being held in concentration camps being a crisis.”
Ocasio-Cortez’s claim about the former Japanese internment camps is deceptive. The facility the kids were sent to is Fort Sill Army Base, which is the same base that former President Barack Obama sent migrant kids to and for the same reasons.

Ocasio-Cortez has an extensive history of paling around with, defending, and praising people who traffic in anti-Semitic rhetoric. This is also not the first time that Ocasio-Cortez has perversely invoked the Holocaust to score political points. Earlier this year, Ocasio-Cortez used the Holocaust to defend Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who has been rebuked by fellow members of Congress for repeatedly engaging in anti-Semitic rhetoric.
