Members of Congress and several left-wing activists held an unhinged rally last week in support of embattled anti-Semite Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), featuring a fiery speech by a notorious Communist who supplied weapons to terrorists so they could kidnap and execute a California judge.
The event held in front of the U.S. Capitol, called “Black Women in Defense of Ilhan Omar,” featured three Members of Congress, Reps. Omar, Rashida Talib (D-MI) and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and centered on the conspiracy theory that President Donald Trump was speaking in secret codes to “incite” death threats.
It also featured a speech by former Communist Party vice presidential nominee Angela Davis, who is herself skilled in carrying out death threats.
Davis once fled the United States to avoid prosecution for her role in the kidnapping and execution of a California judge.
In 1970 Davis purchased an arsenal of weapons and smuggled them to Jonathan Jackson, a Black Panther Party terrorist planning an armed assault on the Marin County, California Courthouse for the purposes of kidnapping State Superior Court Judge Harold Haley.
The plan was to take hostages and secure the release of the “Soledad Brothers,” three Black Panther Party terrorists found guilty of executing a prison guard. One of the three, George Jackson, was Jonathan Jackson’s brother.
During the terrorist assault on the courthouse, Davis’ associate took Judge Haley, Deputy District Attorney Gary Thomas and three women on the jury hostage. He then brutally executed Judge Haley by shooting him in the face with a sawed-off shotgun given to them by Davis.
Jackson and two prisoners from unrelated trials who joined him in the assault were killed in a shootout with police.
Davis, indicted for murder, fled the country.
In an August 15, 1970 story, the Associated Press reported:
Angela Davis, a controversial former college philosophy instructor, was sought today on warrants charging her with murder and kidnapping in the Marin County courthouse shootout Aug. 7 that left four dead, including a judge.
The warrants were issued last night by Municipal Court Judge Peter Allen Smith of Marin County, under a California law holding that anyone who aids or abets in a major crime is equally guilty with the direct participants…
… Miss Davis–formerly an assistant professor of philosophy at the University of California at Los Angeles–previously had been reported by deputies to have purchased the guns used in the courthouse break.
Officers had told newsmen two of the guns used in the incident were registered in Miss Davis’s name and said a third gun might have been purchased by her on July 25 from a Los Angeles surplus store.
Efforts to get in touch with Miss Davis throughout the week had ended in failure, prompting some of her former colleagues at U.C.L.A. to speculate that she may have left the country.
Davis was charged with murder and aggravated kidnapping for her role in planning the attacks. She fled the U.S. and hid in Canada for nearly a year after being placed on the FBI’s “Ten Most Wanted” list.
She would eventually return to the U.S. and avoid a conviction for her role in the terrorist assault by claiming she had no idea her associates were planning to shoot people, despite specifically requesting guns.
She is now rallying on the steps of the U.S. Capitol with three Democrat Members of Congress, accusing President Trump of masterminding violence.
