The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, introduced by Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.), would have guaranteed medical care and legal protection to babies born alive during late-term abortions.
Even in Western Europe’s socialist democracies, Sasse’s proposal is considered common sense.
The United States is one of only seven countries that allows elective abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, the point when a fetus is typically considered viable outside the womb.
However, Senate Democrats made sure Sasse’s bill failed yesterday.
Three Democrats did buck their party to vote in favor of making the most extreme forms of abortion illegal.
Every Republican voted in favor of protecting the most vulnerable members of society.
Don’t forget this. Vote next time.
