James Phillips, of Tennessee, finds himself in the Warren County Regional Jail today after allegedly pointing a .40 caliber pistol in the face of a fellow Sam’s Club customer whose “crime” was wearing a Make America Great Again (MAGA) hat.
Phillips reportedly brandished his weapon and exclaimed to Trump supporter Terry Pierce, “It’s a good day for you to die.” Recalling the incident to WKBO TV, Pierce said he told Phillips, “Then pull the trigger. Put the gun down and fight me or pull the trigger. Whichever one you want.”
After Phillips retreated, Pierce pursued him into the parking lot. (WKBO TV)
“I went out the front of the store to confront him again and that’s when I got him in his car. He couldn’t leave because his mother was still in the store. And we were having a verbal altercation outside,” said Pierce.
Pierce added, “He tried telling me I assaulted him and I said, ‘I never touched you.’”
According to the police report, surveillance video confirms Pierce’s story that he did not put his hands on Phillips.
In the report, police say Phillips had a Glock .40 caliber with a round chambered in his back pocket and two additional magazines in another pocket. Police say Phillips has a current concealed carry permit in Tennessee, where he is from.
Bowling Green, Kentucky police arrested Phillips for wanton endangerment first degree.

just because you have a permit does not give you the right to pull you weapon when you are not in danger or someone else is I have carried around 30 years and have never pulled it for any reason there has been times when I could of but at first signs of trouble call 911 tell them what’s going on they tell me to stay calm and I do if people leave I give officers the info such as tag and description what went on and tell them to handle it but to warn the other party how close they they came because I carry have had some later tell they are sorry for the way they acted and some that just head the other way if they see me so no pulling unless you have to
Sounds like a moron that shouldn’t have a gun . Next time he might shoot someone for a stupid reason .
