Multiple Fox News hosts offered public apologies after a guest compared Hillary Clinton to “herpes.” (Washington Examiner)
Rick Leventhal and Arthel Neville apologized to Fox News viewers and the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee after Turning Point USA’s director of Spanish engagement Anna Paulina said Clinton “won’t go away.”
“She’s like herpes,” Paulina said during a Thursday morning segment on “America’s Newsroom.”
The panel had been discussing Rudy Giuliani suggesting Clinton should be investigated for potentially obstructing justice over the use of her private email server, to which Leventhal remarked that he was “amazed” Clinton was still making headline news with “everything going on in the world.”
“Okay, that is news that we are breaking here. Not appropriate,” Leventhal said in response to Paulina’s comparison. “We’re going to wrap this segment a little early… because of some of the language used in the segment and we apologize to our viewers for that.”
Leventhal’s co-host Arthel Neville reemphasized the network’s apology.
