A federal court judge has ruled that thousands of Florida voters who had their ballots rejected for signature discrepancies now have until 5 p.m. Saturday to resolve the issue.

This ruling from U.S. District Court judge Mark Walker comes hours before the state’s 3 p.m. deadline for all 67 counties to report the results of a machine recount for the U.S. Senate, governor, and agricultural commissioner contests.
Republican Gov. Rick Scott leads Democratic incumbent Bill Nelson in the race for U.S. Senate by less than 13,000 votes; GOP Rep. Ron DeSantis has a 34,000 vote lead on Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum in the gubernatorial election; and Democrat Nikki Fried enjoys a 5,326 vote lead over Republican Matt Caldwell in the race for agriculture commissioner.
According to Florida’s Division of Elections, officials rejected 3,781 ballots statewide for mismatched signatures.
