A Cincinnati poll worker couldn’t contain her surprise after finding her dead neighbor’s name on an active voter registry.
WCPO Cincinnati reports:
And he didn’t just die recently, the man had been dead for 14 years!
“I feel like to have honest elections, you have to have good officials. I feel like it’s a civic responsibility for people to work at the polls,” said Linda Zgoda.
Zgoda loves working at the voting polls. She’s been at it now for more than 20 years.
Zgoda says she pays attention to every single thing.
Despite passing away in 2004, Zgoda’s neighbor had appeared as an eligible voter for 14 years.
With the dead man’s name on the rolls, it’s not hard imagining someone improperly voting using his identity.
The Hamilton County Board of Elections has about 790 voters with incomplete information – including no date of birth on file.
It’s unclear if any others are deceased.
