A Minnesota State House candidate made his dark horse campaign to defeat a sitting Republican that much harder.

WARNING: EXPLICIT LANGUAGE (BizPac Review)

Running for the Minnesota House as an independent, Kyle Greene wants people to focus on “the real issues at hand” and is not backing down from using the word in a video ad he posted to his Facebook page.

“I want to be your state representative. I want to be your public servant. And I want to be your n—–,” Greene said in the video.

The words “Judicial Reform” appeared at the bottom of the screen in the 30-second video though the candidate did not refer to a plan in the clip.

“We need to unify as a society, and we need to stop dealing with trivial matters. The word … is part of the American history, regardless of the race,” Greene told The Star Tribune in his defense. “It’s part of my history being African-American, white and Cherokee Indian.”

Despite being the most ill-conceived campaign ad this election cycle, Greene deserves credit for having served in the Army National Guard.
