While their reporters are all too eager to spread unverified, even false, information about the Trump administration, there’s something no one at CNN seems keen to discuss: Asia Argento, the outspoken #MeToo leader who it seems paid off a underage teen into silence over her sexual misconduct.
Gleen Beck explains:
Stu noted that CNN “has constantly been talking about” the #MeToo movement and “Donald Trump paying off people to be silent about sex” for at least the past year. During that same year, the late celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain — who was dating Argento and working for CNN at the time — was right “in the middle of an intersection between those two issues.”
Argento claimed that Bourdain was at least partly responsible for paying off Bennett, saying he “personally undertook to help Bennett economically, upon the condition that we would no longer suffer any further intrusions into our life.”
Glenn observed that Bourdain might have felt trapped.
“He’s working for a news organization that is zeroed in on paying people off to keep them silent, and #metoo,” Glenn said. “And here’s Asia, and she says, ‘Oh, I’m being blackmailed.’ … He pays $380,000 and then has to live in that world with the cognitive dissidence of: ‘These things are bad but I just did it because I know her and I love her.’”
