Former FBI director James Comey has taken to Twitter to implore voters to choose Democrats in the all-important midterm elections.

“This Republican Congress has proven incapable of fulfilling the Founders’ design that ‘Ambition must … counteract ambition,’” Comey wrote in a tweet Tuesday night.
This Republican Congress has proven incapable of fulfilling the Founders’ design that “Ambition must … counteract ambition.” All who believe in this country’s values must vote for Democrats this fall. Policy differences don’t matter right now. History has its eyes on us.

Comey, who was fired by President Trump, was reacting to the president’s Monday press conference with Vladimir Putin where Trump refused to agree with US intelligence agencies.
While testifying to Congress in 2016, Comey said “I have been a registered Republican for most of my adult life, not registered any longer.”
Unfortunately for Comey, the longtime G-man burned bridges on both sides of the aisle. Hillary Clinton’s flunkies, always eager to blame someone else for their boss’ problems, fired back:
Democrats don’t want your endorsement, but thanks.https://t.co/1BVei3GbUC

For his part, President Trump retracted his controversial remarks made in Helsinki.
