Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia edited by volunteers from across the globe, is now adding America’s temporary immigrant “detention centers” to its list of concentration and internment camps.

As of Monday, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s detention centers have the dubious distinction of being directly compared to Stalin’s Siberian gulags, where millions perished; Nazi Germany’s network of concentration camps, responsible for the murder of two-thirds of Europe’s Jews in a mere three years; and even President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s unconstitutional imprisonment of 110,000 American citizens with Japanese ancestry.

All of this is predicated on several blatant lies from the liberal media, perhaps most egregiously this (per Ben Shapiro):

1. Trump Created Separation Of Children From Illegal Immigrant Parents. This is plainly false. In 1997, the federal government made an agreement in a case called Flores not to keep unaccompanied illegal immigrant children in custody beyond 20 days. The settlement said nothing about accompanied illegal immigrant children – children who crossed the border with their parents. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals then ruled that accompanied children also could not be held in custody under the terms of the settlement. This meant that the government either had to release whole families, or that the government had to separate parents from children.

Even on left-leaning Wikipedia, the debate to add ICE’s processing detention centers to this infamous list wasn’t done without a fairly heated debate.

One editor made a persuasive argument that what’s happening with the children is not imprisonment. There is clear legal precedent for their detainment.

On the page’s bibliography section, the liberal rag Newsweek is prominently cited.
