Just weeks after the Parkland, Florida, mass killing, the National Rifle Association’s Political Victory Fund raised $2.4 million during the month of March — which is a massive increase year over year as well as month-to-month.

According to a report by McClatchy’s DC Bureau and Federal Election Commission filings, this is about $1.5 million more year over year than the gun organization raised in March 2017, a month in which they raked in about $884,000 in donations.

March 2018’s $2.4 million is also $1.6 million more than what the NRA was able to raise in February 2018.

The report added that March’s funds were the most funds raised in one single month since June 2003, and noted that a large majority of the funds came from “small donors.”
