Mt. Pleasant, Michigan and campus police responded to reports of shots fired at Central Michigan University earlier this morning.
The university sent an automated phone call to all students and faculty at 9:20 am, advising everyone to seek shelter.
According to Michigan State Police, a lone gunman – described as a 19-year-old black male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and wearing mustard yellow jeans and a blue hoodie – fatally shot two people.
The victims were not students at the university. Authorities believe the shooting appears to be a domestic incident.
The ordinarily idyllic town of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, has been thrown into a state of chaos with the suspect, considered armed and dangerous, still on the loose.
Law enforcement officials have advised anyone who sees him, stay away and call 911 immediately.
UPDATE 10:23 a.m.: The suspect is a 19-year-old black male who is approx. 5 foot 9 inches tall. He is wearing mustard yellow jeans and a blue hoodie. He may have taken off the blue hoodie. He is considered armed & dangerous. If you see the suspect, do not approach him. Call 911.
