From “Clueless” to Congress? Stacey Dash, who is most famous for her role in the mid-’90s teen comedy “Clueless,” is making her flirtation with politics official, formally creating a campaign committee.
In a filing with the Federal Election Commission, “Dash to DC” is listed as the former actress’ Newport Beach, California-based operation. Earlier this month, Dash, who was a commentator on Fox News, asked her Twitter followers whether she should run. “A number of people online and off have suggested I run for political office,” she wrote. “I wanted to see what my online community thinks of this idea as I mull the possibilities. Thoughts?”
Dash filed in California’s 44th District, a heavily Democratic, Hispanic-majority Los Angeles district now represented by Democratic Rep. Nanette Barragán. It’s unclear how Dash, whose conservative politics all but assure us she would run as a Republican, would fare there.
