Nancy Pelosi accused the president of blatant racism – saying that his immigration plan is to “make American white again.”
Her comments, which also including calling Trump’s proposal a “hateful anti-immigrant scheme” aren’t popular with at least one red-state Democrat.
Senator Joe Manchin (D-West Virginia) took Pelosi to task over her inflammatory remarks.
“We don’t need that type of rhetoric on either side, from Nancy, Paul Ryan, or anybody else,” he said, on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
Pelosi’s over-the-top comments about a piece of Trump’s agenda echo similar language from December’s tax reform vote. Then, Pelosi compared the tax cuts to “Armageddon.”
Despite Pelosi’s irrational anger towards lower taxes, economists have credited the law with juicing the economy, resulting in substantial bonuses from many companies for blue-collar workers.
