Liberals are trying to paint President Donald Trump as a racist – but a growing percentage in the African American community sees it differently.
A new report shows that Trump’s support among black people “significantly exceeds his 2016 vote share.”
Approximately 23 percent of black men support Trump, as do 11 percent of black women. That comes out to an average of 17 percent across the entire black community.
Although Democrats retain a sizeable advantage amongst African-Americans, these findings represent a gigantic increase from Trump’s share of the 2016 vote.
CNN exit polls from the 2016 race show that just 13 percent of black men voted for Trump, and just 4 percent of black women did.
That means Trump’s support among black women has practically tripled, from 4 percent to 11 percent, and his support among black men has nearly doubled from 13 percent to 23 percent.
The booming economy is likely a factor in Trump’s rise among African Americans: black people have just a 6.8 percent unemployment rate in the age of Trump – the lowest number ever recorded in modern American history.
Trump’s skyrocketing support among African Americans could have an impact in both the 2018 and 2020 elections. Even though Democrats will likely still win the black vote by a landslide, Trump could cause them an electoral disaster if he’s able to chisel away at their monolithic voting bloc – as Democrats have been hemorrhaging support among white voters in recent decades.
