Former Fox News Host Gretchen Carlson just got a big new job. Amy Kuperinsky from NJ Advance Media reports:
When incendiary and misogynistic emails from Sam Haskell, Miss America CEO, came to light in late December, former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson was among many former Miss Americas to rally for his ouster.
Now Carlson, Miss America 1989, has been voted in as the new chairwoman of the Miss America board of directors.
The Atlantic City-based Miss America Organization announced on Monday that the Miss America board had voted Carlson in along with several other former Miss Americas who will join the board. With the change in leadership, Carlson becomes the first former Miss America to preside over the pageant in such a role.
Gretchen Carlson departed Fox News in the summer of 2016. After her departure, we learned she sued former Fox News chairman Roger Ailes.
Later that year, 21st Century Fox reached a $20 million settlement and publicly apologized to the former Fox & Friends & Real Story anchor.
