Breaking reports have implicated top FBI officials in plotting an anti-Trump “insurance policy” if Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election.
FBI agent Peter Strzok, who was a lead investigator on both the Hillary Clinton email investigation and Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe of Russian involvement in the election, was kicked off Mueller’s team after revelations Strzok sent anti-Trump text messages to his mistress, FBI lawyer Lisa Page.
While the FBI has tried to downplay Strzok’s wrongdoing, a new text – from Strzok to Page –implicates an FBI agent even higher up the chain.
Fox News reporter Bret Baier revealed the bombshell, tweeting: “Text-from Peter Strzok to Lisa Page (Andy is Andrew McCabe): ‘I want to believe the path u threw out 4 consideration in Andy’s office–that there’s no way [Trump] gets elected–but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk. It’s like an insurance policy in unlikely event u die be4 you’re 40.'”

Andrew McCabe, referenced in Strozk’s text, is the Deputy Director of the FBI. Moreover, he served as the Acting FBI Director from May to August of this year, after Trump fired former Director James Comey.
Strzok’s latest text reveals that Page and Strzok at least considered plotting an unknown “insurance policy” to cripple Trump if he beat Hillary Clinton.
While the text doesn’t reveal whether or not McCabe was a participant in the conversation, it seems highly unlikely that Page and Strzok could have a lengthy discussion in the Deputy Director of the FBI’s office unsupervised.
McCabe’s possible implication in a plot to bring down the President could have significant repercussions moving forward but, at the very least, it’s sure to hurt the reputation of the ailing FBI, which has seen its credibility plummet over its response to the Russia investigation.
