Congressional Democrats might be confident about 2018, but a poll shows the American people think they don’t stand for anything but opposition to Donald Trump.
A Washington Post-ABC News poll shows that a decisive majority of respondents – including 55 percent of independents – think that the Democratic Party only stands for one thing: opposing the president.
Even 27 percent of Democrats agree that their party doesn’t stand for much else.
But despite being perceived as having no definite opinions aside from “resisting” the president, that doesn’t mean the American people are opposed to returning liberals to power: the Democrats lead the generic ballot poll by 8.9 percent, according to the Real Clear Politics average.
