The University of California Berkley’s student newspaper unveiled an interactive map on its website where students can share where they’ve cried on campus and why.
Yes, you read that right.
While some submissions were legitimate – involving everything from depression to profound grief over the loss of loved ones – others were downright ludicrous.
It’s my privilege to share with you our favorites:
- Trump won
- Walking to class the day after the election
- I saw Milo
- Tear gas
- Existential crisis about where I fit into the world and this intense political culture we are currently in. Right before I took a midterms of course.
- One person confessed to breaking down after going with a friend to an “undocumented student healing circle after September 5th” — the day the Trump administration ordered an end to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program that shields young illegal immigrants from deportation. “We both cried in each other’s arms.”
Hard to imagine this generation landing on Omaha Beach, am I right?
